Towing & Body shop in rural area. 3 trucks, all light, F550 twin winch JerrDan 808, International 4300 ext cab 21 ft alum shark JerrDan, 4500 Chev Dynamic 601. Equip feeds the shop and the shop feeds the payments and insurance, visious cycle that needs to be broken. Would like to expand the towing and drop the shop if possible but don't see how, many people towing in this area for next to nothing, i can't figure out how they do it, or why. I was in the towing business in the 70's and 80's with 6 trucks, but gave up after running through many bad driver experiences and wanting some sanity, but its in the blood, like a disease. I jumped in now a couple years ago and everytime I write the checks for the payments I wonder why I do it, but it is because I love it. Hopefully I can hang on, but it is hard to compete with guys doing 16-18 hu's with 3 miles then 3.00 a mile. Doesnt make sense to even start my trucks, but could be wrong, they have a lot of new trucks running 24hrs. We have won best paint in Super Chevy, #1 Super Chevy on cars we did for the last 18 years, but still wish the towing would take off and I could use the shop to house the equipment. Must be some top secret thing I am missing!! We also go way out of our way to help other shops in our area, when everybody thrives life is better and the world is a better place.
